Marcia J. Kelly
Marcia J. Kelly brings over 30 years of experience in higher education administration and a background in nonprofit board and volunteer service. Prior to her retirement, Marcia spent 17 years of her career at Dartmouth College, with her most recent role as Secretary to the Board of Trustees. As a member of the senior leadership team in the President’s Office and the Office of the Senior Vice President for Advancement, she advised senior officers of the college on governance policy and practice, supervised assistants and event staff. She implemented several initiatives as part of the project management team that was responsible for $100 million in savings, and continued to assist with institution-wide project management as a member of the team in subsequent years.
She also developed and implemented board strategy, annual goals and objectives in conjunction with the Board Chair, President, senior officers and trustee committee chairs. During her time at Dartmouth she also served as the associate dean of the College for Administration & Development and Director of Undergraduate Judicial Affairs. She has her M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College.
Marcia has also been involved with the New Hampshire Humanities Board since 2015, and served as board chair 2021-2023. Currently she is a community representation for their Nominations and Governance Committee. Her other volunteer work includes serving as a volunteer income tax preparer with South Eastern Vermont Community Assistance, a volunteer sewing instructor at the resource room/maker space Upper Valley Coop Sew-Op, and a docent for summer garden tours and a Philanthropy Committee member for the Cape Cod Hydrangea Society.
