“Farewell to Snowfest”

After 22 years of honoring our advocates at Snowfest, the fun-filled day of snow golf, skiing and other winter activities generously donated by Loon Mountain, it was time to retire Snowfest. While we were thrilled for Loon as they expanded their lift operations, this meant there was no longer a slope side gathering space large enough to host CASA’s annual gathering. To give this hallmark event a proper sendoff, we raffled off a winter fun package. 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales went directly to CASA of New Hampshire to support advocacy for children experiencing abuse and neglect.

We want to thank Loon for their incredible support and generosity over these last 22 years and look forward to partnering with them in other ways.  We’d also like to thank all our wonderful Snowfest sponsors and supporters who joined us every year.  It is through their support and generosity we’ve been able to provide our advocates with a day of winter fun as a thank you for all they do for New Hampshire’s children.

Snowfest was replaced with CASA At the Heart, a new, unique event to honor our CASA volunteer advocates and celebrate the year’s accomplishments with all of our community partners and friends. Part volunteer appreciation day, part annual celebration, CASA at the Heart is an opportunity for us to come together to celebrate our volunteer advocates and their impact on children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Details will be coming soon.

John Zahr Memorial Golf Tournament

In the summer of 2010, the greater Manchester community lost one of its leading and most distinguished members. John Zahr, President and CEO of Harvey Construction, was an outstanding leader, a committed and beloved supporter of CASA of NH, and gave unselfishly of his time and talent to both his industry and to the community at large. John’s legacy lives on through the John Zahr Memorial Endowment, created in his memory to support CASA’s mission by supporting the general operations of CASA of NH. The endowment principle will be permanently invested with only the income from the endowment used for operating purposes.

For 10 years, his family, friends and industry colleagues came together to celebrate his life and raise money toward the endowment with a golf tournament. The 10th and final John Zahr Memorial Golf Tournament was held on Aug. 30, 2021 at the Manchester Country Club. Since it was established in 2010, the tournament raised more than $560,000 for the John Zahr Memorial Endowment Fund.

Donations to the John Zahr Memorial Endowment may be made by mail to: CASA of New Hampshire, PO Box 1327, Manchester 03105. Cash contributions and marketable securities are welcomed. Pledges may be paid over a multiple year period. For additional information please contact Marty Sink, CEO and President at 603-626-4600. All contributions are tax deductible.

If you have any questions, please email Stacy Lopes, Development Director or call her at (800) 626-0622.

Annual Celebration

On Thursday, June 17, 2021, CASA of New Hampshire celebrated 32 years of advocacy on behalf of more than 10,000 children in New Hampshire who experienced abuse and neglect. The virtual event premiered on Facebook and YouTube with an hour long video presentation that recognized our valued advocates, supporters and friends who have all had a hand in helping to change these children’s stories. We are truly grateful.

In addition to special recognition of our advocates who’ve reached milestone years of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service, we recognized the recipients of:

Thank you to all of our advocates, supporters and friends who helped transform the lives of more than 1,400 children who experienced abuse and neglect in the last year.

Our Annual Celebration was replaced with CASA At the Heart, a new, unique event to honor our CASA volunteer advocates and celebrate the year’s accomplishments with all of our community partners and friends. Part volunteer appreciation day, part annual celebration, CASA at the Heart is an opportunity for us to come together to celebrate our volunteer advocates and their impact on children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
